what are the pros and cons of flat panel solar collector and vacuum tube solar collectors?

1. Fat panel solar collector can integrated with house roof harmoniously, more beautiful,and more safe than vacuum tubes solar collector.
While.Vacuum tubes solar collector is higher than flat panels solar collector.
 
2. Vacuum tube tube solar collector has similar absorb efficiency, while, the energy loss is pretty high, much higher than vacuum tubes collector,
from the attached diagram, you will find, the bottom of the absorb fin has been well equiped with rock wool insulation, WHILE, surface of the absorb & glass cover is not, that will be the main energy loss source
Vacuum tubes just like a hot water flask, can well lock the thermal energy, with less energy loss.
 

3. in the winter time, if we did not well equiped with anti-freezing performance valve for the flat panel solar collector, if the liquid inside the riser do not well drain out smoothly,
that will lead to burst in the copper riser, if one of two of the riser start leaking, the whole collector will be not available to keep on working.
vacuum tube solar collecotr, if there is one tube/one copper heat pipe is out of working, will be easier for maintenance
 
 
 
 
Our suggestion is: 
 
1. for the region, without harsh winter, and sunshine can direct post on the absorb, such as Thailand, Indonasia, Ecuador, Australia are pretty suitable to use flat panel solar collector, we no need to worry about anti-freezing, even energy loss is higher a little bit, it is no big deal.
 
2. While, for region, such as : Russia, South of Chile,(with winter lower than 5 degree to 30 degree) are really do not suitable to adopt flat panel solar collector:  ANTI-FREEZING & HEAT LOSS, will make the system does not work well in the winter.
 
If you will adopt flat panel in the future, please make sure well install anti-freezing valve, to make sure water well drain out from the flat panel collector, to well protect the copper risers from bursting due to the hard winter low temperature.
